Alojamentos Altamira

Alojamentos Altamira is a homestay with nine rooms in Formigal, in the Vinha da Rainha area. Every room has a private bathroom, and guests share a lounge and a kitchen. A minimarket on site covers everyday needs, and free parking and wifi are available. The property sits in the town itself, with the centre within easy reach.

Location
Formigal lies in the Vinha da Rainha area, and the homestay stands in the town rather than on its edge. The surrounding region is known for its historic monuments and its salt-making heritage, which shape several of the excursions within reach. The Castle of Soure, a fortified tower, is about 7.7 km away. Closer still, roughly 5.7 km from the door, the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Seiça in Paião recalls the area's religious past. A different side of local life appears at the Núcleo Museológico do Sal in Lavos, some 11.7 km away, where the salt trade is documented.

Rooms
All rooms come with a private bathroom, toiletries, towels and linens, and each has a wardrobe and a socket by the bed. A blanket and a fan are provided; there is no air conditioning. Some rooms add a TV, a shower and a view over a quiet street. Couples, families and small groups are all accommodated.

Facilities
A shared kitchen and dining room allow guests to cook, and the lounge with a TV area is open for sitting. A convenience store on site supplies basics. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out from 07:00. Free parking includes street parking and accessible spaces. Wifi is free. Family rooms are available, laundry carries a charge, and daily housekeeping is available for a fee. The property is smoke-free, has full-day security and is not wheelchair accessible. Cribs are not provided. Staff speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.
