The County Hotel is a charming, heritage-listed property that’s been welcoming guests for more than 130 years. Because of its rich history, every room has its own distinct personality—so you’ll find that sizes, layouts, and styles differ from one stay to the next.

The photos you see on our site are real snaps of actual rooms here, giving you a fair sense of what to expect. That said, no two spaces are identical, so the furnishings, arrangement, and outlook can vary from what’s pictured.

Given the building’s original architecture, some rooms are only reachable via a few internal stairs. If you’d prefer a step-free route or need extra support with mobility, we’d suggest getting in touch before you book—our team can point you toward the best options for your needs.

Our spot in the heart of the city means you’ll sometimes hear a bit of hustle and bustle, especially on lively evenings or weekends. To help you rest easy, we’ve popped complimentary earplugs in every room.

We’re always working to improve the place, so while a lot of our bedrooms and shared spaces have already had a refresh, there’s still plenty going on behind the scenes. If anything comes up during your visit, our staff is glad to help or explore alternative room choices with you, as availability allows.
