Nestled in Zamora’s old town, the Hostería Real de Zamora sits right next to the ancient Romanesque stone bridge.
Housed in what was once known as the Palace of the Inquisition, this hotel occupies a 16th-century Renaissance building. The structure was built atop a significant Jewish residence, where the Mikve—or Jewish ritual bath—still remains.
This edifice was commissioned by Don Francisco de Villacís y Ponce de León, the first Count of Villaflor and a Minister of the Council of the Indies, who also served as President of the House of Trade and as a Councillor for Toledo, Segovia, and Madrid.
Inside, guests will find a cloistered inner courtyard, along with Gothic sculptures and both Baroque and Renaissance paintings. A garden lies alongside Zamora’s medieval wall.
The Hostería Real de Zamora features a cloistered courtyard, a garden terrace, a bar-café, a reading room, and a front desk available around the clock.
Each room is equipped with air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with a bathtub.
