Nestled on the peaceful northern edge of Harz National Park, this family-run retreat blends rustic charm with a prime location between the historic town of Wernigerode and the spa destination Ilsenburg. Landhaus Tonmühle welcomes guests with cozy double rooms and apartments, each featuring a TV and shower, while many open onto a lovely terrace with pond views.
The hotel serves as an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling through the surrounding woodlands or heading to the nearby Brocken peak.
A rich breakfast buffet is served daily from 8:00 to 10:00, with early options from 6:30 and extended hours until 11:00 on weekends. The owner personally prepares refined regional specialties and hearty dishes in the Mediterranean-style conservatory restaurant. In warmer months, guests can savor barbecues on the tranquil terrace.
Couples especially appreciate the setting, awarding it a 9.2 rating for two-person getaways.
