Set in the heart of a sprawling green estate just 15 minutes from Tours, the Commanderie de Ballan is a 12th-century château hotel that offers an idyllic base for exploring the Loire Valley's famous castles.
Guests can stay within the historic château itself, where elegantly furnished rooms blend traditional charm with luxurious comfort, evoking the grandeur of the region's most iconic landmarks. For weekends or holidays with family and friends, our houses and lodges—including one with a private pool—provide a perfect retreat. Meanwhile, our duplexes in the former stables feature a kitchenette and private terrace, ideal for a fully independent stay in a peaceful setting.
A visit here is a true invitation to unwind: take a soothing Nordic bath nestled in our forest. Our team is also delighted to arrange a variety of extras, from picnic baskets (breakfast, brunch, grazing boards, and more) and massages to yoga classes, private chef services, bike rentals, local wine tastings, and tailored excursions.
The estate offers free, secure parking for both cars and bicycles. Couples adore the setting—it earned a 9.0 rating for two-person getaways.
