Pemba Lodge is an eco-friendly resort offering bungalows made out of recycled boats and natural local materials. Each one is has a secluded location in the large garden and has direct access to the beach. The bungalows are raised from the ground on stilts to capture the sea-breeze and can be accessed by a small ladder. They include four-poster beds surrounded by mosquito nets and a rainwater shower. Guests can dine at the restaurant which provides fresh organic meals prepared with wild seafood and vegetables from the garden. There is also a bar made out of recycled-wood. Snorkelling and kayaking facilities are provided by the Pemba Lodge and can be used to explore the mangroves. Diving trips and Swahili massages can be arranged upon request. The resort is located 45 minutes’ drive from Pemba Airport and 30 minutes’ away from the Ferry Port Mkoani by car.
