Railway Cottage offers an ideal base for a holiday or quick getaway along the Dorset coast.

We’re conveniently located in Swanage, just a short, flat five-minute stroll to the beach, local buses, the charming Swanage steam railway, and the town centre. Corfe Castle is a mere 5.5 miles away.

As a room-only guest house, we don’t serve breakfast—our rates reflect that.

Every room comes with its own private bathroom, a fridge, and tea and coffee-making essentials.

Our flexible key system lets you arrive and leave whenever suits you (check-in from 1pm, check-out by 10.30am).

A week before your stay, we’ll send you a text with all the check-in details you’ll need.

Dogs are always welcome here.

Since our rooms are self-catering, we won’t disturb you during your stay—no one will enter your room. We’ve stocked washing-up liquid and tea towels, so you can easily freshen up your cups if needed.

Please note that we no longer offer parking.

We’ll simply charge the card details we have on file during your stay—no need to pay us upfront.
