Nestled on the outskirts of the bustling market town of Dumfries, Woodland House is a Grade B listed Georgian mansion. Run by a family, this secluded countryside retreat provides complimentary private parking for guests.
Upon arrival, a grand period fireplace in the sweeping entrance hall sets the tone, while the bar and dining area are kept cosy with crackling log fires.
The guest rooms are generously proportioned, furnished with custom-made hardwood pieces. Each comes with a contemporary, spacious tiled en-suite bathroom.
The hotel is within five miles of several local golf courses. A tributary of the River Nith flows nearby, offering excellent fishing spots. Within a 15-mile radius, the forests of Mabie and Ae provide ideal terrain for cycling and hiking.
Couples appreciate the setting, rating its location an 8.9 for two-person stays.

Nice property set in lovely grounds. An older house where they have kept lots of features with a few modern touches.
