| From Cusco, 2 days excursion to Waqrapukara

During this tour, visitors will have the opportunity to capture stunning vistas, explore the local flora and fauna, and admire one of the region's notable attractions known as Waqrapukara.

Day 1

Starting the journey from your accommodation in or around the historic center of Cusco, we will depart promptly at 5:00-5:30 AM. Our route will traverse through various rural settlements, culminating in an hour's drive into the vicinity of the Pomacanchi Lagoon. Upon arrival, we will allocate ample time for photography opportunities.

Following this initial phase, we shall proceed towards the village of Sangarara, where we will commence our morning feast and subsequently undertake our ascent towards the community of Pitumarca. This segment of our expedition will feature a picturesque landscape, allowing us to appreciate an array of flora and fauna such as llamas, alpacas, hummingbirds, and more. Throughout our journey, we shall engage in delightful conversations, ensuring a serene and engaging experience.

Upon reaching the archaeological site of Waqrapukara, situated amidst breathtaking natural beauty, we shall establish our campsite. Dinner awaits us here, followed by a night spent under the starlit sky.

Day 2

The day commences with a splendid sunrise, setting the tone for a memorable experience. Following breakfast, we will embark upon a guided exploration of Waqrapukara, focusing on its unique architectural features, including the Moon and Sun Enclosure, Wiracocha Enclosure, towers, bleachers, and intricate doorways. Our journey will also allow us to marvel at the awe-inspiring views of the Apurimac Canyon and its surrounding rock formations.

Having thoroughly appreciated the splendor of Waqrapukara, we shall proceed to the nearby village of Sangarara. A hearty lunch will await us upon our return to the starting point, where we will set out once again towards the district of Cusco. Arriving back in the city at approximately 6 PM should provide sufficient time for rest and relaxation before the evening activities.
