Rinjani Hero

Two-day, one-night trekking expedition starting from Sembelun Village to the Crater Rim of Mount Rinjani, culminating with ascension to the summit and return to Sembelun Village.

Day 1

Upon waking after breakfast, guests will be transported via specially equipped mountain vehicles to the Sembalun village area. This journey, estimated to take between 45 minutes to an hour, culminates at approximately 8:00 AM upon arrival at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC), located at 1,051 meters above sea level and Post 1 (Monitoring Post), situated at 1,300 meters. Following a brief stop at Post 1 (Monitoring Post), lasting around 5-10 minutes, travelers proceed towards Post 2 (Tengengean), where they'll find themselves at a height of 1,500 meters, spending roughly another hour before reaching Post 3 (Pada Balong), standing at 1,800 meters. At this location, a ten-minute break ensues, followed by a further hour-long hike. Post 3's resting period lasts for two hours, during which time the guides and porters prepare for a meal and refreshments such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or lemon tea. Following lunch, the group continues their ascent towards Sembalun Crater Rim (Pelawangan Sembalun), covering a distance of three hours and thirty minutes, including a challenging yet rewarding climb up to the peak at 2,639 meters. Once atop Rinjani, the panoramic view of the surrounding islands, including Bali and the Mount Tambora in Sumbawa, along with the stunning vistas of Segara Anak Lake and Sembalun village becomes accessible. As evening approaches, the team descends back to the Sembalun Crater Rim, enjoying a light breakfast. Upon returning to Post 3 or 2, visitors partake in a hearty lunch before concluding their day with a visit to Sembalun village, arriving around noon.

Day 2

The dawn chorus begins early, prompting guests to rise at 02:30 AM. For those who wish to witness the mesmerizing sunrise, a light breakfast awaits them. The trek commences at 3:00 AM, aiming for the summit of Mount Rinjani at an elevation of 3,672 meters. The initial phase involves a moderate uphill journey for approximately two hours, gradually easing into a more leisurely pace as the latter stages unfold. The final stretch is particularly strenuous, characterized by numerous loose stones and sharp inclines, making each step forward seem like a challenge to maintain balance. Upon cresting the summit, the breathtaking panorama unfolds, encompassing the entirety of Lombok Island, accompanied by the vibrant hues of Bali, the majestic Mount Tambora in Sumbawa, and the captivating beauty of Segara Anak Lake. As the sun rises, guests embark on a descent back to the Sembalun Crater Rim, where they partake in a sumptuous breakfast. Post a brief respite, the team traverses downhill through Sembalun village over a duration of four to five hours, stopping at either Post 3 or 2 for a midday meal. Finally, the vehicle transports the party from Sembalun village to Senaru, marking the conclusion of their adventure.
