Day 1: Departure

Begin your journey with a scenic 4-hour drive from Cusco to Capuliyoc, where you'll meet your experienced trekking guides for breakfast. Following a challenging 4-hour hike, you'll reach Chikiska, marking the beginning of your exploration of Choquequirao.

Day 2: Exploration Begins

Start your second day with a hearty breakfast and a 5:00 am wake-up call. The route then leads you down to Playa Rosalina, offering panoramic views of the Apurimac Canyon. Cross the river via a suspension bridge and continue ascending to Santa Rosa for a refreshing lunch. Your final leg of the day takes you to Marampata, where you set up camp and prepare for the evening's starry sky.

Day 3: Discovering Choquequirao

After a rejuvenating morning, you'll embark on a guided tour to explore Choquequirao, often referred to as the “cradle of gold.” Led by expert guides, you’ll uncover the secrets behind this remarkable Inca site and learn more about its historical significance. The day culminates with a descent back to your campsite for dinner and restful nights under the vast Andean skies.

Day 4: Exploring the Peaks

Wake up early with a cup of hot coca tea or coffee. Head out in the direction of Coca Masana, where you'll find yourself surrounded by diverse flora and fauna, including cascading waterfalls. Enjoy a delicious lunch while marveling at the breathtaking scenery.

Day 5: Return Journey

End your trip with a leisurely morning and a 3-hour trek back to Capuliyoc. After a hearty farewell meal, it’s time to head back to Cusco. You'll arrive at your accommodation by approximately 5 PM, ensuring a smooth end to yet another memorable adventure.

  • A pre-departure briefing will take place the night prior to departure at 6:30 PM. You will be picked up from your hotel location. Transportation throughout the duration of the trek will be arranged by our team. Personal porters will assist with carrying your belongings (limited to no more than 7 kilograms). Additional porters will be available to transport food and equipment. A professional chef will prepare all meals during the journey.
  • Guides fluent in English will lead the group on this adventure. Should the group consist of nine or more individuals, a second guide will be assigned. Meals will be included as part of the package.
  • Four-person tents will accommodate each two travelers, equipped with sleeping pads beneath them. A first aid kit will be readily accessible should an injury arise. Drinkable water will be provided along with hot water for personal hygiene needs. Hand towels and sheets will also be supplied. Sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses can be rented upon request.
  • Lastly, entrance tickets for all sites visited will be provided. Horses and their riders will accompany us, while an emergency horse may be called upon if necessary. A comprehensive First Aid Kit will be carried on board, ensuring medical care in case of unforeseen circumstances. Hot water for bathing purposes will also be available. Rain ponchos will protect against unexpected weather conditions.
