Explore the majestic Choquequirao and Machu Picchu for an unforgettable 8-day adventure, immersing yourself in breathtaking landscapes, verdant mountain vistas, and lush tropical forests.
Day 1: Departure from Hotel Cusco to Capuliyoc, approximately 3 hours drive. Upon arrival, commence with breakfast before embarking on a 4-hour hiking expedition towards the lunch spot.
Day 2: Ascend to Maranpata Village, enjoying a meal there, followed by a further 2-hour ascent to the second campsite, situated within Choquequirao Park. Proceed to explore this historical site this afternoon.
Day 3: Embark on an exploration of the Choquequirao's lesser-known side. Ascend to the Choquequirao Pass, descending for 3 hours to Pinchiunuyoc Ruins, where you'll relish lunch. Afterwards, undertake a strenuous 4-hour zigzag ascent to your campsite in Maizal.
Day 4: Climbing to the San Juan Pass brings us to lunch. Following this, descend for 3 hours to Yanama Village. Spend the night here.
Day 5: Our journey culminates at the Yanama Pass, reaching its peak at the Yanama Pass. Descend for 2 hours to Maizal Camp.
Day 6: Begin the day early, walking for 6 hours through the lush rainforest. Enjoy the sightseeing opportunities, including multiple plantation areas such as coffee, passion fruits, avocados, and crop fields. Arrive at Lucmabamba Post-lunch, having ample time for relaxation and recuperation.
Day 7: Start the day with a visit to the Organic Coffee Farm. Proceed for 3 hours via an ancient Inca Trail to the Llactapata Inca Site, offering panoramic views of Machu Picchu. Descend for 3 hours to Hydroelectric Station Hidroelectrica, where you'll have lunch. Finally, walk for 3 more hours along the railway tracks to Aguas Calientes.
Day 8: Commence the day early, boarding the first bus at 5:30 AM for a scenic ride to Machu Picchu. Your guide will photograph your postcard at Machu Picchu before starting the guided tour of the main sectors of the citadel. Return to Agua Caliente for lunch, and prepare for the train journey back to Cusco.
