Travel by double-decker bus around Essen as you listen to commentary about the city. Take the north and the south routes and discover Essen City.
The north bus route starts at Akazienallee (near the Centralstation) and heads to the city center. Pass Kennedyplatz and Berliner Platz, where the Limbecker Platz shopping center is located. See the Zollverein Coal Mine World Heritage Site. The bus route circles back and ends at Akazienallee.
The south bus route begins with the Folkwang Museum and leads to Margarethenhöhe. Continue to Grugapark, where you will have a view of the Baldeneysee. Next, the south route will head to the Essen exhibition center. The last point on the route is the Philharmonie before returning to Akazienallee.
Due to construction work on the new city railway, we can no longer use our “Haus der Technik/Hbf” stop. The new stop “Akazienallee (near main station)” is about 100 meters away on foot. It is located almost directly at the tourist information office on Kettwiger Straße.
