Meet your guide and get ready to set out on your Flam adventure as you board an air-conditioned vehicle. Not long after starting your journey, you'll travel through the longest road tunnel in the world, the Laerdal Tunnel.
Listen as your guide entertains you with interesting and surprising stories as you journey through the 24.5-kilometer-long tunnel lit by blue and yellow lights.
As you exit the tunnel, you'll enter the picturesque Laerdal valley. Drive alongside the river and pass by numerous fruit farms known for their delicious stone fruits before the winding road brings you to your first stop of the day, the Borgund Stave Church.
As you arrive in front of the Borgund Stave Church, prepare to be captivated by its magnificent exterior, a true architectural gem in the heart of Norway. our guide will share fascinating stories and facts about the church's unique design and historical significance, making this a perfect photo opportunity.
Next, we explore Lærdalsøyri, a national 'heritage village.' As you stroll through its streets, you will be transported back in time, surrounded by 161 wooden houses dating from the 1700s to 1800s. A great opportunity to get up close with preserved traditional craftsmanship or to enjoy a coffee break in this historical setting.
Our journey from Laerdal Fjord to Aurlandsfjord takes us along what is known as the Snowy Road between the fjords. Our stop allows you to immerse yourself in the mountain landscape and to breathe in the crisp, fresh air.
After we descend with the bus, you will experience another highlight of your guided shore excursion, a stop at the famous Stegastein viewpoint. Step onto a viewing platform that extends 30 meters out from the side of the mountain and take in panoramic views of the UNESCO listed Aurlandsfjorden.
Finally, hop back aboard the bus and settle in for the return journey to the port, admiring the landscape as you wind your way along more of Flam's scenic roads.
