From Avignon, Lavender & Luberon villages

Explore renowned landmarks such as Sénanque Abbey, known for its picturesque lavender fields, and admire the enchanting hilltop towns of Gordes and Roussillon. Experience an unforgettable journey through these captivating locations during our exclusive small-group tour, offering visitors a serene escape amidst the blooming lavender blooms.

Upon departure from Avignon, your tour guide will lead you to the renowned Sénanque Abbey, a beautifully preserved 12th-century monastic site situated amidst verdant forests and picturesque lavender fields. Widely acclaimed as one of the region's premier attractions, this architectural marvel should not be missed during the flourishing season of lavender blooms. However, due to limited time, the interior of the abbey cannot be visited.

Next, proceed towards the historic town of Gordes. A photographic detour is planned at Gordes’ iconic viewpoint, offering an awe-inspiring panorama of the Luberon Valley. The vineyards and olive groves extend endlessly beyond the horizon, framed by gently rolling green mountains. Shortly thereafter, your chauffeur will escort you to the castle in Gordes, allowing ample time to explore its cobblestone streets and appreciate breathtaking vistas of the surrounding landscape. Numerous retail options are available alongside charming cafes and ice cream parlors. Upon rejoining your tour guide at the initial rendezvous point, continue to another enchanting village.

Approximately at 1 p.m., your guide will depart with you to the village of Roussillon. With ample time allocated for leisurely exploration, visitors are encouraged to dine in local cafes or snack bars, while the vibrant alleys of Roussillon offer a kaleidoscope of ochre-painted houses. Alternatively, those opting for a quicker meal may choose to stroll along the colorful Ochre Trail (with entrance fees not applicable) traversing the terraced cliffs of an erstwhile ochre mine.

Following the blossoming phase of lavender, our itinerary will culminate in the most visually striking and scenic lavender fields of the current period. During June, we will concentrate on expansive fields on the hillsides of the Luberon Valley; subsequently, in mid-July, we will venture up to the high plateau of Sault. Two extended photo excursions are scheduled, each taking place in June and July.

Finally, we shall return to Avignon between approximately 5:30 and 6:00 PM.
