In this four-day trekking expedition across Choquequirao, participants will gain insight into the diverse terrain of Peru as they traverse picturesque Andean settlements.



Itinerary

Starting from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m., the itinerary commences with a journey to San Pedro de Cachora. Upon arrival, participants embark upon their first trekking route, lasting approximately three hours. This hike culminates at the Capulliyoq viewpoint, offering breathtaking vistas of the Apurímac River and distant ruins of Choquequirao.

Following the scenic path, participants proceed to Chiquisca for lunch and dinner. They will overnight in a hostel situated near Chiquisca.

On Day 2, after a hearty meal in Chiquisca, the group embarks on a new trekking route. This excursion, taking around five hours, features two breaks: one at Santa Rosa for lunch and another at Marampata for panoramic views. Participants will sleep in a hostel in Marampata.

Continuing northward, on Day 3, they set off for Choquequirao, known as "Machu Picchu's little sister," where remnants of temples, warehouses, and public spaces provide insight into ancient Peruvian civilization.

In the afternoon, after resting in Marampata, participants return to the ruins. Following breakfast, they depart for Capulliyoq, where they will catch a vehicle to return to Cusco.

Accommodation
The itinerary includes stays in local hostels along the journey.

Important Notes
This trekking route traverses areas ranging from 2,000 to 3,400 meters above sea level. As such, it is not suitable for individuals with physical limitations or those experiencing difficulty breathing or walking on uneven terrain at high altitudes.
