Journey Peru SAC

Experience a journey rich in biodiversity, recognized as a significant cultural heritage by humanity, encompassing one of the most extensive natural reserves globally.

Day 1: Departing Cusco early in the morning, travelers traverse through picturesque valleys nestled between the majestic Andean mountain ranges and encounter diverse rural communities. A brief detour leads to Paucartambo, a charming colonial town renowned for its historic sites. Here, visitors explore the town’s museum while enjoying panoramic views and observing various fauna including the spectacled bear, the cock of the rock, orchids, bromeliads, and other endemic flora.

Continuing their journey, guests partake in a leisurely lunch within the lush cloud forest environment, enhancing their experience with breathtaking vistas and opportunities to spot lesser-known species like primates and butterflies. Upon reaching their accommodation, Pilcopata Lodge, they settle into their overnight stay.

Day 2: Commencing the day with an early morning breakfast, travelers embark on a guided exploration of a coca plantation followed by a visit to a wildlife rescue center. Subsequently, they proceed towards Puerto Atalaya, situated along the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River at an elevation of 500 meters above sea level. Here, they commence their descent via boat, immersing themselves in an abundance of aquatic life and diverse ecosystems. Their final destination is the Amazon Manu Lodge, offering them a chance to relish a sumptuous lunch prior to embarking on a guided hike to Machuwasi Lake. There, they can enjoy the tranquility of the lake while rafting to observe birdlife and spend the night at the lodge.

Day 3: Early in the morning, travelers board a boat bound for the macaw clay lick, a distinctive feature along the riverbank where various parrot species congregate to consume mineral-rich clay. After a hearty breakfast, they prepare to depart Puerto Atalaya aboard a bus, returning to Cusco around 6 PM. Their evening meal en route will conclude their journey, bringing them safely back to their accommodations in Cusco.
