This private heritage tour will commence with your driver's pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 AM. Comprising a selection of Hindu, Buddhist, or Jain temples renowned for their erotic sculptures and intricate carvings, as well as symbolic and directional elements, these structures exemplify Nagara-style architecture. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, these temples date back to the early 10th–12th centuries. Constructed in the state of Madhya Pradesh, they comprise eight-five temples, of which twenty-five survive today.

These magnificent sculptures and architectural marvels reflect the profound passions, eroticism, music, dance, and artistic prowess of the Chandela dynasty. Located amidst the picturesque landscapes of Chatarpur district, these temples stand as testament to the Chandela dynasty’s rich cultural legacy. According to local folklore, the Moon God was said to have been enchanted by a beautiful Brahmin girl named Hemvati, leading to her conception of Chandravarman, the founder of the dynasty. In response to this divine union, Chandravarman commissioned temples adorned with erotic sculptures, establishing a connection between the historical narrative and contemporary architectural splendor.

The Chaunsa Yoga-Icon Temple, dating back to 900 AD, stands out as the oldest among the surviving temples. Dedicated to Goddess Kali, this granite structure holds significance within the sacred narrative of the Chandela dynasty.

Kandariya Mahadeo Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, features an imposing "Shivalinga" and exquisite carvings that evoke grace and intensity. At 31 meters tall, it is one of the largest temples in existence. Intricate stone craftsmanship adorns every aspect of the temple, depicting gods, goddesses, deities, lovers, and celestial maidens.

The Chitragupta Temple faces eastward toward the rising sun, dedicating itself to Lord Surya, also known as the Sun God. Engraved inside the inner sanctuary is a colossal statue of Lord Surya, accompanied by a horse-drawn chariot.
