Kulen Mountain Day Trip with Picnic & Kulen Elephant Forest

Embark on a day trip from Siem Reap to explore the ancient ruins of the Khmer Empire, including Kulen Mountain and its surrounding Kulen Elephant Forest. Experience breathtaking natural scenery with stunning waterfalls and rivers, immerse yourself in authentic local culture by visiting nearby villages, and engage with these magnificent creatures up close as you witness their daily lives.

You will be transported from your hotel at 7:30 AM to Phnom Kulen National Park via an air-conditioned vehicle equipped with a proficient English-speaking tour guide. This excursion traverses through rural Cambodian villages, during which you have the opportunity to witness the daily activities of the inhabitants alongside admiring picturesque landscapes like rice paddies and traditional structures. A notable highlight involves visiting the authentic village of Phum Preah Dak, where you can engage in learning the techniques used to create palm cakes and palm sugar. Following this, we proceed towards the summit of Phnom Kulen, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide who will lead you to some of the most breathtaking tourist sites within the national park, such as the largest and most splendid waterfalls, the reclining Buddha statue, the cliff formations, and the River of Thousand Lingas, dating back to 802 AD.

Following the exploration of these scenic wonders, we shall head to a nearby waterfall for a leisurely picnic, offering the chance to savor grilled chicken paired with a can of local beer or soda/coke/sprite along with seasonal fruits. Post the meal, we will depart for the Kulen Elephant Forest, commencing our afternoon session at 13:00 PM. Here, guests will gain firsthand experience of interacting with elephants in their natural environment, embarking on guided walks and enjoying an informative introduction to elephant care. Upon returning to the city of Siem Reap, you will be dropped off at your hotel promptly.
