Angkor T.K. Travel & Tours

Discover the origins of the ancient Khmer Empire by visiting Phnom Kulen National Park. Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring spectacle of the River of 1000 Lingas, where intricate carvings adorn the riverbed, and experience the profound reverence for the reclining Buddha atop the mountain.

Departure in the morning from your hotel via private transportation to Phnom Kulen National Park. Travel through expansive rice fields and scattered villages adorned with traditional dwellings, then ascend onto the rugged path leading to the summit of the mountain. Phnom Kulen is renowned among historians as the cradle of the ancient Khmer Empire. During its construction, sandstone was sourced from this sacred site to construct the grand temples of Angkor. To the Khmers, Kulen holds supreme sanctity.

Venture forth along the River of 1000 Lingas, which branches into three ports dedicated to the Hindu trinity deities. Encompassed within its banks lie thousands of intricate carvings dating back centuries. Upon reaching the peak of the hill, observe the Buddhist Pagoda and the colossal reclining Buddha statue. Descend towards the cascading waters of Kulen, where two picturesque spots offer respite for swimming and possibly enjoying a meal.

Approximately at 2:00 PM, the tour concludes, after which the guide facilitates your return to your accommodation. Alternatively, you may opt to explore Banteay Srei Temple, often referred to as the "Women's Citadel" due to its imposing red sandstone architecture. Entry requires a valid Angkor Day Pass, priced at approximately $37 per individual.
