There are many poignant reminders of these turbulent periods which are etched on its landscape in the shape of the gun emplacements, watch towers and concrete bunkers, their remains can still be seen today. Our Orkney at War Trike Tours take you to some of the key sites from WW1 and WW2.

Orkney is filled with breath taking views, a rich and long history as well as a friendly, vibrant community. Our tours give you a brilliant in-depth look at different aspects of Orkney past and present and if we pass a place of interest we will point it out to you.
In reality Orkney has had many "invasions" through its history, some friendly, others less so. Most of which we know very little about, so Orkney at war is perhaps an ongoing six thousand year history and we are just scratching its surface.
On a different note we also "Pick up and drop off" at your ship, ferry, Hotel or a pre-arranged place.
Warm weatherproof clothing is recommended as Orkney is much colder and windier than many expect on their first visit. after all we are a group of Islands off the north coast of Scotland and not known for its high temperatures. Please remember there is no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes. We do provide helmets and intercoms with wind and waterproof equipment where required
