Pearls of Western Serbia, Uvac, Zlatibor & Mokra Gora

Location Belgrade, Serbia

VICTOR TOURS

Explore the rich historical, cultural, culinary, and scenic landscapes of Western Serbia during this 2-day itinerary: ascend Zlatibor Mountain, experience the unique Å argan Eight train, delve into the charming wooden architecture of Wooden Town, and enjoy a serene boat cruise along the pristine waters of Uvac Lake Nature Reserve.

On Day 1, we commence our journey by visiting "The House on Drina," an isolated loghouse perched upon a rocky outcropping amidst the Drina River. Post-photographic stops and refreshment breaks, we proceed towards the renowned Å argan Eight Railway, a narrow-gauge line serving merely as a leisurely excursion today. Alongside our travels, we traverse numerous scenic overlooks offering panoramic vistas of Mokra Gora. Our carriage, adorned with authentic wooden interiors, features rustic furnishings including wood-burning stoves and a distinctive rhythmic sound emanating from within.

Next, we explore the charming Wooden Town, conceived by acclaimed Serbian filmmaker Emir Kusturica. This picturesque village, meticulously recreated from ancient timber structures sourced from nearby hillsides, now stands as a testament to the artist's vision.

Our overnight destination is Zlatibor, a breathtaking region known for its dramatic landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

On Day 2, we begin our day with breakfast. Following the transfer from Zlatibor, we embark on a brief drive to the heart of the Uvac Special Natural Reserve. Within mere hours, we reach the pristine beauty of Uvac Canyon, where the Uvac River has carved its path through the mountains, revealing intricate gorges and natural caverns attracting countless visitors. Should fortune favors us, we may witness the majestic griffon vulture, the largest avian species in Europe, soaring above the canyon. To enhance our visual appreciation, we plan a boat cruise along the winding river, allowing us to capture captivating photographs from elevated points overlooking the valley.

Upon completing our river voyage, we enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local eatery (details pending), followed by a transfer to Belgrade for the night. Upon arrival, hotel check-in concludes our tour.
