Admire the variety of songbirds that inhabit the forest of spruce trees in Saskatoon's President Murray Park on a birdwatching tour. Identify species with the help of your guide and hear their calls.
President Murray Park
You will meet me at the Northwest corner of President Murray Park at the intersection of Aird Street and McKinnon Avenue South in Saskatoon, Canada. If you request it in advance, I will provide 1 pair of binoculars for you to share during this birdwatching tour.
I will guide you through this forested park and stop whenever we see or hear a bird. If the bird is perched, I will focus my spotting scope on the bird so that you may see it clearly under high magnification. I will point out the field marks used to identify the bird and show you a picture of the bird and its sounds using an app on my cellphone. At the end of the trip, I will review the list of species observed and share the checklist with you.
The distance travelled will be about 1 km over a level terrain with trees. This tour may be suitable for persons in wheelchair if they can navigate over grassy terrain.
Your guide can provide tips about other birdwatching hotspots in the area.
