Starting Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora via Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, one begins their journey by embarking upon a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains. This initial segment traverses the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, culminating in the majestic Tassili n’Ajjer National Park where one can admire the panoramic vistas of the towering cliffs and lush green valleys. Following this, they arrive at Zagora Desert, where an array of picturesque villages cling to the mountainside, creating a striking juxtaposition against the vast expanse of the desert landscape. Here, our first destination will be the UNESCO-recognized Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a site frequently featured in blockbuster films like "Gladiator" and "Babel." Upon arrival, guests will enjoy a leisurely lunch within the fortified walls of this historic fortification before continuing onward to the Zagora desert.
As one progresses further into the desert, the terrain transforms into a lunar-like setting with rugged terrains and the distinctive Pre-Saharan and desert routes leading them toward the Zagora oasis. At this juncture, the horizon opens up to reveal the sprawling Sahara Desert, its shimmering sands stretching endlessly across the vast plains. Continuing onto Day 2: Zagora to Marrakech via Draa Valley and Ouarzazate, after breakfast in the desert, travelers embark on a journey towards Marrakech. Alongside their route, they will encounter the charming town of Ouarzazate, known for its rich cinematic history and cultural heritage. Notably, this area includes the Kasbah of Taourirt, a well-preserved fortress that has witnessed centuries of human activity. Additionally, a film set, reminiscent of the golden era of Moroccan cinema, adds an intriguing layer to this historical exploration.
