Description of Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil - Toubkal Refuge

Following an early morning breakfast at the hotel in Marrakech, our driver will dispatch you to the heart of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains. Departing from Imlil (1740 meters above sea level), situated 67 kilometers southwest of Marrakech, you will arrive at the meeting point where your team awaits to accompany you on this remarkable journey. Your driver will then drop you off in the village, where muleteers will handle your luggage, ensuring that everything essential—food, equipment, and provisions—are securely transported.

Within approximately half an hour, you commence your hike with an experienced mountain guide. Following a well-marked mule track, you traverse through Berber villages, passing by the shrine Sidi Chamhrouch (2500 meters). Upon reaching this location, you prepare your picnic lunch, which has been meticulously planned ahead by our skilled chef. Post-lunch, you rest briefly, followed by another brief break atop the mountain summit (3200 meters).

Upon returning to base camp, you indulge in refreshing mint tea, accompanied by the breathtaking scenery surrounding the campsite. The hot shower facility ensures that you are fresh and ready for the next day.

Option: During the evening, the night might be spent under a tarpaulin, though the choice is yours.

Day 2: Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil

Rise early to avoid the intense sunlight. Breakfast is served around 5:00 am, and the ascent begins at 5:30 am. Each participant should bring their own packed lunch. Step-by-step, you ascend until reaching the point overlooking the hut. Here, you can take a short break, replenishing with nuts, water, and oranges.

After approximately three to four hours of hiking, you will reach the peak. A 45-minute break allows you to capture panoramic views of the high Atlas mountains, the lush valleys, and Berber villages. Following this, a diverse lunch is prepared for you at the hut. Post-lunch, you descend back towards the hut along the same path.

You also have the option to spend the second night at the hut, contingent on your flight time and vacation schedule. This extension will incur additional charges; kindly inquire with us regarding availability and pricing details when finalizing your booking.

Departure arrangements from Imlil include a pickup service to either your riad in Marrakech or the nearest airport.
