Issyk kul region, Kyrgyz republic
This itinerary offers an array of exhilarating experiences, showcasing the remarkable natural beauty of Kyrgyzstan. Visitors will encounter diverse landscapes including towering mountains, pristine glaciers, cascading waterfalls, deep gorges, stunning canyons, and serene mountain lakes.
Day One:
Departing from Cholpon Ata at 6:00 am, travelers embark on a journey to explore various attractions within Issyk-Kul region. Among the first stops is the Skazka Canyon, renowned for its breathtaking natural landscapes. Following this, tourists proceed to the rocky beach of Issyk-Kul, traversing the desert coastline amidst canyons, river mouths, and picturesque meadows. The area features crystal-clear waters reaching depths of approximately 30 meters, attracting spearfishers seeking solitude. Here, visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and engaging in recreational activities.
The Barskoon Gorge follows as the next destination, offering access to the iconic Barskoon Waterfalls. Climbing the pass and ascending to an elevation of 4,200 meters above sea level provides panoramic views of eternal glaciers. During the descent, participants may indulge in playful snowball games. Upon arrival at the overnight accommodation nestled within the Dzhety-Oguz Gorge, guests experience immersive cultural experiences, including traditional Kyrgyz cuisine served in rustic yurts.
Day Two:
Upon waking, travelers commence their exploration of the Jety-Oguz Gorge, visiting the "Maiden's Spit" waterfall. Continuing their journey towards midday, they reach the city of Karakol, home to the N.M. Przhevalsky Museum. Subsequently, the group proceeds to the Ananyevsky, Semenovsky, and Grigorievsky Gorges, where they encounter the Holy Lake. Located 30 kilometers beyond the Kazakh border, this mesmerizing body of water was formed in 1911 during the Vernensky earthquake. Its unique enchantment lies in its exceptionally striking forest cover, particularly evident at the lake's surface.
After admiring the Holy Lake, the group enters the Semenovskoye Gorge. They continue climbing until they reach the Grigorievskoye Gorge, whereupon they descend back to their overnight location by 6:00 pm.
