Tour Overview
Starting Day 1, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Maun at 09:00 AM (other times available upon request). The expedition begins with a 1-hour speedboat cruise to the Buffalo Fence. Depending on weather conditions, this might require a 4x4 vehicle instead. Upon arrival at the buffalo fence, guests will be met by an experienced poler who leads them on an exhilarating journey through the Okavango Delta’s breathtaking channels.
Our dedicated polers and guides, hailing from the Delta region, are deeply passionate and knowledgeable about its unique ecosystem. They will showcase the diverse flora, fauna, and indigenous tribes. During lunch, guests will enjoy a picnic on an island within the Delta.
Following lunch, participants will venture onto a traditional one-tree canoe, known as a Mokoro, to immerse themselves in the tranquil Delta environment. Post-lunch refreshments, guests can freshen up before embarking on a nature walk, hoping to spot more wildlife along the way. The group will then return to camp for dinner.
For Day 2, the expedition continues with a Mokoro ride led by a community trust guide. Participants will also undertake a guided bushwalk across Delta islands. The day commences with a warm “Dumela” greeting followed by a light breakfast. Following the meal, guests will partake in their first game viewing activity, either a nature walk or a canoe outing.
Afterward, guests will be served brunch in the evening. Late in the afternoon, another game viewing activity will follow. Led by experienced bush chefs, the menu will feature delicious dishes prepared over the fire, offering a memorable culinary experience.
The final day of the tour concludes with a Dug Out Canoe tour and a bushwalk. Guests will enjoy a relaxing rest beside the river for lunch. Later in the evening, they will return to Maun, concluding their journey through the Okavango Delta.
