4-day tour of the Tambopata National Reserve

This four-day excursion through the Tambopata National Reserve offers an opportunity to explore the diverse wildlife and lush vegetation characteristic of the Peruvian rainforest.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport or at a mutually agreed-upon location, we will commence our journey aboard a vessel destined for the Tambopata National Reserve. Embarking on the river, we shall traverse the tranquil waters of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers, encountering a myriad of wildlife en route. Upon reaching our accommodation, we shall proceed to enjoy a hearty meal, replenishing our energy for subsequent activities. Our exploration of the reserve will culminate with an evening stroll amidst the diverse flora and fauna of the region.

Day 2

Elevating our pace, we will awaken early to embark on a trail through the dense tropical jungle. Guided by experienced guides, we shall traverse to Lake Sandoval, a colossal body of water renowned for its role as a habitat for piranhas. Subsequently, we will embark on a small boat voyage to explore the lake’s rich ecosystem, observing various species of animals and plants. Returning to our accommodations, we shall savor a nourishing meal before settling down for the night.

Day 3

To fully immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the Tambopata National Reserve, we will rise with the sun to undertake a canopy walkway expedition. Nestled among towering trees, these platforms offer unparalleled views of the surrounding landscape, revealing a plethora of bird species including toucans, macaws, tanagers, and orioles. Post-experience, we will return to our accommodations for breakfast and resume our explorations.

Continuing our journey, we will engage in a thrilling zip-line adventure, ascending over 30 meters above the forest floor. This exhilarating feat promises breathtaking vistas and a heightened sense of adventure. Following this exhilarating experience, we shall once more make our way back to our accommodations for a well-deserved lunch.

For the remainder of the day, we shall venture forth onto a kayaking expedition along the majestic Madre de Dios River. During our leisurely cruise, we shall appreciate the serene beauty of the river while contemplating a mesmerizing sunset, concluding our excursion with a sumptuous dinner.

Day 4

Departing from our accommodations, we will conclude our journey by making our way back to Puerto Maldonado airport, completing our excursion just as the day draws to a close.
