Serengeti national park, Tanzania
A five-day small-group safari offering shared accommodation and participation in wildlife exploration and landscape viewing across diverse locations provides an engaging and budget-friendly experience for travelers.
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Departing from Arusha, you will be picked up early in the morning for a brief briefing before embarking on your journey to Tarangire National Park. Characterized by its vast savannah, towering baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, the park serves as a habitat for large elephant herds. Visitors often observe a diverse array of mammals, including giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, zebras, and warthogs. Additionally, the park hosts buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, accompanied by a plethora of predators like lions. Occasionally spotted are leopards, though cheetahs are less frequently encountered. Viewing opportunities abound from the open-roofed safari vehicles, allowing you to appreciate the expansive landscape and wildlife.
In the late afternoon, you will proceed to the nearby Kizumba campsite, where you will spend the evening.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
After clearing breakfast plates, you will continue your journey towards the fertile highlands inhabited by the Iraqw people. Following the route through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will encounter the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. Upon reaching midday, you will arrive at Serengeti National Park, where you will experience the largest park in Tanzania. Spanning various landscapes and habitats, it features grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannas, and mountains. The Serengeti National Park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including massive wildebeests and zebras.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Starting your day with breakfast, you will traverse Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After descending from the highlands, you will enter the heart of Africa—the Serengeti National Park. Known for its endless expanses of grassland, rolling hills stretching to the horizon, the Seronera area offers rich biodiversity. This region is particularly abundant in wildlife, showcasing species representative of much of the Serengeti’s ecosystem.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Beginning your expedition early in the morning, you will venture down the forested slopes into the crater on a steep and winding path. The crater floor is characterized by open grassland interspersed with occasional acacia trees and two small wooded areas. Abundant with wildlife, this location presents an opportunity to witness numerous animals within a relatively short period. Even the elusive “Big Five”—lion, rhinoceros, elephant, Cape buffalo, and leopard—are possible sightings.
Day 5: Lake Manyara
For today, you will embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park. This small yet enchanting destination is a haven for both seasoned and casual bird enthusiasts, boasting over 400 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, and cormorants.
