Day 1: Departing from Moshi, we proceed towards Marangu Gate, where essential formalities are conducted prior to embarking upon our treks. Commencing at the foot of a lush, verdant rainforest, the trail ascends steadily. Upon reaching the boundary of the forest canopy, one encounters blue monkeys perched amidst the treetops. As the path broadens, the view expands to reveal picturesque hillside vistas. We eventually arrive at Mandara Hut, marking the commencement of our journey.

Day 2: Continuing through the dense rainforest, the trail transitions to higher moorlands as we approach the Horombo Hut. Here, we might glimpse the majestic Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, two of the three volcanic summits comprising the highest peak in Africa. This period provides ample opportunities for panoramic views of these breathtaking landscapes.

Day 4: Ascending gradually, we traverse the lunar-like deserts of the "Saddle," situated between Mawenzi and Kibo. Our encampment, Kibo Hut, lies at the base of the Kibo Crater Wall. Upon arrival, we relax and prepare for the ascent to Uhuru Peak.

Day 5: Early in the morning (midnight or close to dawn), we commence our ascent to Uhuru Peak. This segment is both mentally and physically demanding, characterized by intense winds and subzero temperatures. Traversing in the dark for several hours, we take frequent yet brief pauses. At Gilman’s Point, the spectacle of sunrise illuminating Mawenzi Peak becomes unparalleled.
