Day 01
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, guests will be met by an English-speaking guide, who will then transport them to Thimphu, the capital city. The journey takes approximately one and a half hours. Upon reaching Thimphu, guests will proceed to check-in at their accommodation. Following lunch, visitors will explore the National Memorial Chorten, where they witness elderly individuals praying and circumambulating the stupa. Subsequently, they will visit the Authentic Craft Bazaar, situated at the heart of Thimphu, offering local Bhutanese arts and crafts. Next, guests will attend the archery ground to observe traditional archery demonstrations and leisurely stroll through the downtown area. Guests will spend the night in Thimphu.
Day 02
The day begins with breakfast. Afterwards, guests will visit Kuensel Phodrang, where they will find a large Buddha statue. They will also tour the Paper Factory, where they can witness the traditional process of making Bhutanese handmade paper. Proceeding to Motithang Takin Preserve, commonly referred to as the Mini Zoo, visitors will encounter Bhutan’s iconic national animal—the Takin. Later, guests will embark on a scenic hike to Wangditse Lhakhang, which provides panoramic views of the Thimphu valley and Tashichodzong. In the afternoon, they will visit Tashichodzong, formerly known as the Dzo-Ngyen Dzong but now better recognized as the “Fortress of Glorious Religion.” This historical site dates back to 1641 and has since undergone various reconstructions, including renovations by King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in the 1960s. The complex now serves as the secretariat building, throne room, and offices for the king and central monk body.
Day 03
Starting the day with breakfast, guests will travel to Gangtey, a charming village surrounded by stunning landscapes. The journey involves driving through the Dochu-La Pass, which offers spectacular views of Himalayan peaks and snow-capped mountains. Further down the route lies the Druk Wangyel Chorten, another 108-stupa attraction. From Gangtey, guests will continue to Phobjikha Valley via Punakha or Wangdue. Upon arrival, they will traverse the Gangtey Nature Trail, enjoying breathtaking views of Phobjikha Valley. Phobjikha Valley serves as the winter habitat for Black-necked Cranes, migrating from the Tibetan Plateau. The valley is renowned for its unique landscape, featuring glaciers and enchanting scenery.
Day 04
Guests will begin their exploration of Phobjikha Valley with visits to the villages and communities to gain insight into daily life. They will also visit remote temples and have a picnic lunch in the valley. Post-lunch, they will visit Gangtey Gompa, a temple dating back to the 17th century, followed by a crane information center—The Royal Society for Protection of Nature, which educates visitors about the cranes and their environment, as well as promoting conservation efforts.
Day 05
The day commences with breakfast. Guests will then drive to Punakha, visiting Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to fertility blessed by Lam Drukpa Kuenley, also known as the Divine Madman. The temple attracts many childless couples seeking blessings. Following this, they will visit Punakha Dzong, a majestic fortress strategically placed between the Male and Female Rivers. Punakha served as Bhutan’s ancient capital before being relocated to Thimphu.
Afterwards, guests will cross the suspension bridge to reach Punakha Dzong. For dinner, they may choose to dine at a farmhouse, where they can savor traditional Bhutanese cuisine and immerse themselves in a traditional hot stone bath. The evening concludes with archery lessons.
Day 06
Starting the day with breakfast, guests will hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten, perched atop picturesque rice terraces along the river. Their return journey includes a brief stay at the Punakha Dzong. Following the hike, they will head to Paro, exploring the town’s downtown area and visiting Paro Dzong. Post-dinner, they will take a stroll around the Paro district.
Day 07
With breakfast, guests will start their ascent towards the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. The trek consists of approximately two to two-and-a-half hours one-way, believed to be a sacred landing point for the Great Guru Rinpoche during his mission to bring Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century. They will arrive at the wooden structure standing proudly on a cliff overlooking the Paro Valley. Throughout the day, they will engage in cultural activities such as tasting Bhutanese cuisine and immersing in.
