A Full Day Sheki Tour

Explore the enchanting cities of Azerbaijan, particularly Shamakhi and Sheki, renowned for their rich historical and cultural heritage. These regions were pivotal centers for handicraft production and thriving commerce during an era of great economic activity.

Starting the tour from the designated location or the appointed hotel, guests embark on a journey that encompasses the rich history and cultural significance of Azerbaijan through various landmarks. Our route commences with a visit to the Shamakhi Juma Mosque, an ancient structure dating back to 743 AD, situated in the heart of the South Caucasus. This historic mosque underwent a significant restoration project in 2009 under governmental auspices, aiming to revive its grandeur. The mosque’s aesthetic appeal stands out as an iconic landmark within the region, serving as a testament to Islamic architecture and heritage. As part of our itinerary, we allocate at least thirty minutes for a guided exploration of the site, providing valuable insights into its historical importance and architectural marvel.

Next, we proceed towards Sheki, where the main attraction is the Sheki Khan Palace, a renowned historical and architectural wonder nestled within the boundaries of "Yukhari Bash" National Historical-Architectural Reserve. This palace has been listed among UNESCO’s World Heritage sites since 1998, reflecting its exceptional value in preserving Azerbaijani culture and history. Continuing along our route, we arrive at the Medieval Caravanserai, a remarkable architectural relic constructed during the 18th century. Our final destination in Sheki is the Kish Albanian Church, a historically significant religious structure located in the picturesque village of Kish.
