Lachea Island, situated as the largest outcrop forming the Cyclops archipelago, lies slightly offshore from Aci Trezza, Sicily. This natural wonder, classified under the Integral Lachea Island and Cyclops Stacks Nature Reserve, showcases its geological origins due to subvolcanic activity, shaped by the intrusive magma beneath the ocean floor.

The Faraglioni, known for their association with the mythological tale of the blind Cyclops Polyphemus hurling stones at Odysseus during his escape from the land of the Cyclopes, offer breathtaking natural formations sculptured over millennia by relentless winds and rains. These awe-inspiring landscapes are meticulously preserved within a marine protected area, safeguarding them from human interference.

Norman Castle, once the heart of medieval Aci, now serves as a civic museum amidst the rocky promontory overlooking the waters. Its foundation remains enigmatic, but evidence suggests its strategic importance during pivotal historical periods such as the Sicilian Vespers, the rule of Ruggero di Lauria, the reign of the Aragonese, and eventually the Alagona family. Today, this fortress stands as a testament to the region’s rich history, offering visitors a glimpse into the past through its preserved architecture and artifacts.

Caves of Ulysses, believed to date back to the 13th-12th century BC, provide insights into ancient legends and traditions, enriching our understanding of the cultural heritage of Sicily.

The House of the Prince, constructed in 1749 by Prince Don Luigi Riggio Don Stefano, exemplifies the architectural prowess of the era, showcasing a grandiose façade adorned with twelve windows overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This opulent abode, fortified with defensive structures designed to resist Ottoman naval threats, offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
