During the day trip from Puno to Copacabana and the Island of the Sun, visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore the Basilica of the Virgin Candelaria in Copacabana. The itinerary begins with a 7:00 am hotel pickup in Puno, where guests should be within the main square of the city. Following this, there will be a transfer to the terminal station for a bus journey to Copacabana. Upon crossing the Peru-Bolivia border at Cassani, guests will continue to Copacabana, arriving around 12:00 noon local time.
Lunch and a guided tour of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Copacabana are included in the itinerary. Subsequently, guests will board a boat for a trip to Isla del Sol, which involves crossing Lake Titicaca to its southern shore. On arrival, they will explore the archaeological site of Pilkoken, including the Temple of the Sun, and descend the Umani stairs from the Inca era. At the Eternal Fountain of the Incas, visitors can enjoy the sacred waters.
The return boat journey to Copacabana is scheduled for approximately 5:00 PM, providing ample free time in the city before the bus ride back to Puno. Guests are advised to arrive at their hotel in Puno by around 9:00 PM, ensuring a smooth departure for home.
