Bolivia, Full day to Copacabana & Isla del Sol

Explore the enchanting historical landscape of Isla del Sol, where you may marvel at the exquisite gardens dating back to the Inca era, admire the Fountain of the Inca Youth, and traverse the breathtaking terraces.

On a day trip departing from Puno to Copacabana and the Island of the Sun, visitors will be afforded the chance to explore the Basilica of the Virgin Candelaria in Copacabana. This excursion entails traveling through the historical center of the Inca Empire, where one may encounter significant archaeological sites dedicated to the worship of the Sun God or Inti.

The itinerary commences with a hotel pickup at 7:00 am in the city of Puno, immediately followed by a transfer to the terminal station for a tour bus journey to Copacabana. Following a few hours of travel, passengers will arrive at the border between Peru and Bolivia (Cassani) to complete formalities necessary for entry into Bolivia. Upon completion of these procedures, travelers will proceed towards Copacabana, with an anticipated arrival time of 12:00 noon local Bolivian time.

Upon reaching Copacabana, participants will enjoy a meal and a guided tour of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Copacabana. Subsequently, they will embark upon a boat ride across Lake Titicaca to the southern shore of the Island of the Sun, where they will visit the archaeological site of Pilkoken (Temple of the Sun).

Throughout this exploration, tourists will descend the Umani stairs from the Inca era and visit the Eternal Fountain of the Incas, where sacred waters can be tasted. At the conclusion of their visitation, passengers will board a return boat back to Copacabana, expected to land around 5:00 pm.

Following disembarkation from the boat, visitors will spend some leisurely time before boarding a bus back to Puno, which is scheduled to arrive at approximately 9:00 pm. They will subsequently proceed to their accommodation in Puno, arriving there sometime thereafter.
