Bonita Lagoon circuit and sunset experience

The departure from Barreirinhas on a four-wheel drive vehicle will lead us to one of the ferries used for crossing the Preguiças River, which provides access to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PNLM).

This afternoon half-day tour features an exploration of the Lençóis Maranhenses, accompanied by a sunset experience. Commencing from Barreirinhas at approximately 2:00 PM, guests are met upon arrival at the designated hotel pick-up point. Following the embarkation process, the group proceeds for approximately one hour to reach the Bonita Lagoon Tourist Center.

Upon arrival, visitors will encounter a charming village adorned with local businesses, including artisanal souvenir shops and family-owned snack stalls. The centerpiece of this destination is the renowned Bonita Lagoon Staircase, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Guests will ascend the staircase to witness the stunning vistas of the park below.

Following the ascent, the tour delves into exploring the numerous lagoons scattered throughout the area. A guided stroll through the scenic surroundings will allow participants to admire two or three distinct lagoons, during which they may freely immerse themselves in water activities like swimming (each session lasting approximately 40 minutes).

As evening approaches, the highlight of the tour unfolds as the experienced guide leads the group towards the tallest dune within the region. Here, they will captivate under the captivating spectacle of the Lençóis Maranhenses Sunset, providing a memorable end to their leisurely journey.
