Leaving Cannobio, you will head towards a path which leads to the castle-like village of Carmine Superiore. The village is unique, being cut out of the rocks and containing a Romanesque church and frescoes.
A walk half way up the hill offers breathtaking views over the lake, which is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. Whilst at the village, visit the cozy church to discover its frescoes.
You will then stop for a nice packed lunch before heading further on towards the Cannero Riviera, with glances of the legendary castles which emerge from the lake. You will finally walk along the center of Cannero, where you will meet your boat to return to Cannobio.
