Caracas, Venezuela
Explores the historical core of Caracas.
During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to explore several notable landmarks across the city center. Firstly, they will visit the Mercado Guaicaipuro, a bustling local market where various local flavors can be sampled. Next, tourists will proceed to the Torre David, an architectural marvel believed to be once a significant financial hub but now serves as a slum settlement due to its unfinished construction. Moving forward, they will ascend to the majestic heights of the Torres de Parque Central, witnessing the highest skyscrapers of Venezuela.
The Palacio de Justicia will then capture their attention as the seat of justice for the country. In line with history, they will pay homage to St. Francis Church, an architectural gem dating back to colonial times. Following this, the National Assembly's headquarters, known as El Capitolio, will provide insight into the political landscape of Venezuela.
A central landmark for the tour is the Plaza Bolivar, which features prominently in the heart of the city. Continuing their journey, the Palacio Municipal will reveal the historical significance of the signing of the Act of Venezuelan Independence. The birthplace of the nation's liberator, Simon Bolivar, is also visited at the Casa Simon Bolivar, though it remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Visitors will then move on to the Cathedral de Caracas, a prominent religious structure that reflects the cultural heritage of the region. The Panteón Nacional, housing numerous national heroes of Venezuela, will follow, along with the Mausoleo de Simón Bolívar, another monument dedicated to the national hero. Lastly, they will end their tour by climbing the iconic staircase at El Calvario, honoring former President Hugo Chávez, before concluding their exploration at the Mausoleo de Chávez.
