Caral & Bandurria Day Trip

Caral, Lima, Peru

Quechuas Roots

Embark on an enriching journey through history, immersing yourself in the ancient roots of the Andean civilization, which holds the distinction as the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. This exclusive day trip offers a captivating exploration of notable archaeological landmarks, allowing visitors to unravel the mysteries of this remarkable past.

Upon pickup from the main hotel in the city at 9 am, our journey takes us north towards the archaeological site of Caral, located in the Supe Valley. This site, dating back five millennia, features ancient pyramids, temples, and astronomical centers that serve as testament to the advanced civilization of the Andes. Recognized as the third-oldest urban settlement on Earth, Caral stands as a significant milestone in pre-Columbian history, predating both Mesopotamia and Egypt by several centuries.

Following our exploration of Caral's rich past, we shall spend approximately one hour enjoying a leisurely lunch. Afterward, we proceed to the Paradise Wetlands area, where we will embark upon a guided tour through the Bandurria archaeological complex. This ancient fishing village offers insights into life during the Caral era, including visits to pyramids, mounds, and other structures reminiscent of Caral's architectural heritage. Additionally, we will ascend to a natural lookout point to fully appreciate the panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Paradise Lagoon.

Our day concludes as we return to our accommodations in Lima around 8 pm.
