This excursion begins with a brief stroll through the quaint village of Kampos and a comprehensive introduction to the activities planned and the cultural significance of Chios.

The journey commences with a visit to the citrus museum, nestled within a historic mansion adorned with an atmospheric café and a breathtaking garden. Here, participants delve into the origins of citrus farming on the island, exploring how these ancient practices have evolved over centuries, reflecting the daily lives of residents during medieval times until today.

Following the museum tour, visitors proceed to a traditional citrus orchard, where they engage in hands-on learning sessions led by local farmers. These sessions cover the fascinating aspects of citrus cultivation, including the history, different varieties, techniques like pruning and grafting, understanding the process of flowering, and much more. Participants then venture deep into the orchards, guided by their knowledgeable guides, to harvest fresh oranges or mandarins, which are available throughout the year from November to May.
