Tour Description
Participants embark on a journey through one of the most isolated regions of the Inca Empire during their tour. Upon arriving at Plaza Regocijo, participants will be picked up promptly at 6:30 am, ensuring a smooth transition into the itinerary.
The first leg of the journey takes approximately 3.5 hours to reach the archaeological site of Saywite, offering glimpses into the intricate designs and architectural marvels created by the ancient Incas. Following a brief stop at the charming town of Cachora, participants will enjoy a leisurely lunch while taking in the breathtaking views of the Apurímac Canyon and the snow-capped Padreyoc mountain range. Subsequently, a descent of around 3 hours awaits them, featuring panoramic vistas of the Cocamasana de Chuquisqa viewpoint along the way.
The second day commences with an early morning breakfast, followed by a steep ascent lasting roughly 1 hour and a half to reach Santa Rosa. Participants will have ample time to rest before continuing their journey upwards for approximately 3.5 hours, eventually reaching the picturesque town of Marampata. Here, they will savor a traditional lunch, after which they may choose to relax or engage in activities like photography. Dinner and overnight accommodations will conclude their stay in Marampata.
The final leg of the tour involves a visit to Choquequirao, where participants will spend approximately an hour and a half exploring the wonders of this historic site. Post-visit, they will return to Marampata and settle down for the evening meal and overnight stay. On the fourth day, participants will begin their descent back towards Santa Rosa, enjoying a leisurely breakfast en route. This segment concludes with a stroll to Chuquisqa, where they will partake in a boxed lunch before making their way back to Capuliyoc via approximately 3-hour trek.
Throughout the entire journey, participants will experience authentic culinary delights prepared by local residents, enriching their cultural immersion.
