However, eager tourists often wait months to secure the opportunity to witness these majestic creatures up close. Visitors to the park play a crucial role in funding conservation efforts and maintaining necessary infrastructure, thereby ensuring the protection of both the gorillas and their habitats.
Located just outside Brazzaville, the Lesio Luna Sanctuary of Gorillas serves as a sanctuary for orphaned gorillas, providing them with a safe environment until they reach maturity. During this period, the sanctuary's caretakers feed the gorillas twice daily under strict supervision, allowing tourists the unique opportunity to observe these gentle giants in their natural setting.
Day 1: Gorilla Encounter at Sanctuary
Upon arrival in the early morning, guests will board a vehicle driven by our experienced guides, taking them to the Lesio Luna reserve located in the second site called "ABIO." Here, they will meet a lone silverback gorilla, offering a rare glimpse into the wild world of these magnificent animals. Following this encounter, visitors will proceed to a scenic boat ride through the lush forests surrounding the sanctuary. On this journey, they'll likely spot numerous African wildlife, including thousands of birds and fish, and even a large group of wild gorillas that were released into the wilderness some time ago. These gorillas now roam freely, learning about the wildlife in their new surroundings before being reintroduced to the wild.
Post-visit, guests will embark on their return journey to Brazzaville, enjoying the serene beauty of the region along the way.
