Hue vietnam, Vietnam
Discover the rich history of the Vietnam War through our exclusive DMZ tour originating from Hue. Embark on this journey to explore pivotal sites such as the Vinh Moc Tunnels, Khe Sanh, Ben Hai River, and Dakrong Bridge, immersing yourself in the untold stories of the conflict.
Our tour begins at 07:30 AM when our guide and vehicle will depart from your hotel in Hue's central area, heading towards Vietnam's Demilitarized Zone in Quang Tri Province. Upon arrival, we will embark on a guided tour of several significant historical sites.
Firstly, we'll visit the Horror Highway, which commemorates the tragic events of May 1, 1972, during the Vietnam War. This highway saw extensive combat between North and South Vietnam, resulting in numerous civilian casualties due to artillery fire. The site serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of conflict.
Next, we'll explore the Long Hung Church. Located in Quang Tri Town, this structure stands out as one of the rare remaining structures from the period known as "Fire Summer" or the Eastern Offensive in 1972. As a national relic, it bears testament to the resilience and determination of both locals and soldiers during this critical phase of the war.
We'll then proceed to the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, which offers insights into the fierce battles fought against foreign invaders in 1972. Although severely damaged during the 81-day struggle, the citadel has become a focal point for honoring the bravery of Vietnamese forces and educating young generations about their revolutionary heritage.
Continuing our journey, we'll see the Dakrong Bridge, a historic landmark that played a pivotal role in the development of the Ho Chi Minh Trail network. Throughout the Vietnam War, this strategic crossing remained a target of contention, leading to multiple instances of its destruction. Today, it stands as a symbol of perseverance and military might.
As part of our tour, we invite visitors to learn about life in the Paco Minority Village, offering a glimpse into traditional life in rural areas prior to the conflict.
Moving forward, we'll make our way to Ta Con Airport, which now houses the Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum. Here, we'll discover the aftermath of the infamous Battle of Khe Sanh, featuring memorials to over 197 U.S. aircraft and vehicles that were destroyed during the 170-day conflict.
Upon arriving back at our hotel, we'll enjoy light refreshments before concluding our tour at 18:00 PM.
