Emmen, Wildlands Adventure Zoo and Rimbula River Cruise

Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen

Visit Wildlands Emmen and discover the zoo's areas: Jungola, Serenga, and Nortica. Visit the world's largest jungle in a zoo, take a cruise on Rimbula River, and drive in a truck through the savannah.

Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen

Embark on a trip around the world in a day as you visit the Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen. Explore three diverse biotopes while you learn about the animals who live there. Throughout the day, enjoy rides and shows curated for an interactive experience. Begin your day by choosing which featured area you'd like to visit first: the tropical Jungola, the arid Serenga, or the frigid Nortica. Check out the daily schedule for specific presentation times. Learn about the elephants' habits or watch the hippos play while the handlers answer questions. If you've chosen to visit Jungola first, prepare to take a deep dive into the heart of the jungle. Enjoy this tropical paradise as you wander through an overgrown temple that is home to hundreds of colorful butterflies. Hop in a boat on the Rimbula River and cruise past elephants, alligators, and apes. Continue at Jungola along paths through the jungle. Venture down Headhunter's Path and learn survival tips at Jim's Jungle Show. Once you've explored to your heart's content, choose between the African savannah or the Arctic as your next adventure destination. In the grueling world of Serenga, the landscape is hot and dry. Here, admire the Sun Palace and Dogon Village, close to where a large group of hippos live. At the Baboon Arena, discover families of guinea baboons, just as curious about you as you are about them. Next, climb aboard a safari truck and get up close to herds of wildebeest and tall giraffes as they roam the Serenga plains. Catch a glimpse of camels, zebras, and rhinos while you drive. During the safari, snap some photos in this diverse and complex world. Finally, take a walk on the cooler side in the icy landscape of Nortica. Here, discover the unique animals that inhabit the North and South Poles. At the Polar Station, admire the polar bears as they pad across rugged rocks and swim effortlessly through the frigid water. Before you leave the cold world of Nortica, take a wild 4D test flight over the Polar region with the Arctic 1. Explore the South Pole's offerings, too, with a walk among the penguins. At the Nortica Show, watch how the intelligent sea lions work with the researchers before concluding your day.
