Day 1: Perth to Margaret River

On our inaugural day, we commence our journey from Perth towards the scenic beauty of Margaret River. Our expedition begins with a dedicated effort at a local wildlife sanctuary to engage in volunteer activities. Following this, we make a leisurely detour to the Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands for a 45-minute semi-guided tour underground. Post-lunch, we embark upon a culinary excursion to sample the exquisite wines and cheeses of the Margaret River region. We proceed to a selection of wineries, each offering their unique experiences and offerings. As dusk falls, we settle down for a memorable meal amidst the natural splendor of the region, concluding our first night under the starry skies.

Day 2: Margaret River to Walpole

We begin our second day by embarking on a remarkable 7-kilometer hike along the Cape to Cape Track, followed by an optional exploration of the Margaret River region and a delightful picnic lunch. Upon arrival at the Walpole Wilderness Region, we revel in the untouched beauty of the forest landscape. At the Bicentennial Tree, those willing to challenge themselves can reach the summit via 165 steps, offering panoramic vistas of unparalleled beauty. For the evening, we gather around the campfire to share stories under the starlit sky.

Day 3: Walpole and Albany Region

We venture forth to William Bay National Park, enjoying the refreshing waters before setting off on a scenic coastal route to Albany. Along the way, we admire the striking rock formations at the Natural Bridge and The Gap. Continuing onward, we traverse the picturesque Stirling Ranges, leading us to our overnight destination. This location features showers and toilets, making it ideal for a comfortable stay.

Day 4: Mt Trio to Cape Le Grand National Park

As we transition from the rugged landscapes of Esperance, we welcome the verdant hues of the park. Following a hearty breakfast, we connect with Country through a 90-minute Dabungool Cultural Experience. Next, we enjoy a swim at Twilight Beach, one of the numerous breathtaking spots on the iconic Great Ocean Drive. Further east, we arrive at Cape Le Grand National Park, where we set up camp at Lucky Bay. This accommodation offers both showers and toilets, ensuring a pleasant night’s rest.

Day 5: Cape Le Grand National Park

This day is devoted entirely to exploring the rich tapestry of Cape Le Grand National Park. We navigate through dense bushlands, swim in various bay and cove areas, and delve into the diverse flora and fauna of the park. One of the highlights of the trip involves hiking to Frenchman Peak to witness the breathtaking sunset.

Day 6: Esperance to Perth

We depart early in the morning and stop for lunch in a charming outback town before continuing our journey until we reach the ancient Wave Rock. From there, we hop onto a bus to visit the historic town of York, learning about the Rabbit-Proof Fence along the way. Finally, we arrive in Perth late in the evening, having traveled approximately 9 hours with multiple stops en route.
