Excursion 2 days/1 nights in the jungle, Tambopata

Our journey into the heart of the Tambopata Jungle promises an unparalleled encounter with nature's diverse inhabitants, where both day and night offer captivating opportunities for wildlife observation. This expedition provides an exceptional chance to capture the essence of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitats, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.

On Day 1, guests will commence their journey at the designated bus terminal or airport in Puerto Maldonado, where they will proceed to our hostels. Upon arrival, guests will receive a warm welcome beverage featuring local fruits. Following settling into spacious bungalows, an introductory hike through the lush vegetation awaits, during which guests may encounter various insect and wildlife species. Subsequently, participants will engage in exhilarating adventure activities, including zip-lining and canopy walks, offering breathtaking views from elevated levels.

Following lunch, guests will embark upon a thrilling cruise along the Tambopata River. During this voyage, they will witness a spectacular sun set and subsequently descend the vessel in silence, seeking out caimans and capybaras—considered the largest rodent species globally—and other endemic wildlife in their natural habitats.

On Day 2, the expedition begins with early morning navigation through the Tambopata and Madre de Dios regions, culminating in the discovery of the Tambopata Reserve. Participants will undertake a 3-kilometer trek, traversing diverse birdlife, primates, insects, and ancient trees preserved within this sanctuary.

Upon reaching Lake Sandoval, guests will embark on a traditional rafting excursion across the expansive lake. This trip offers ample opportunities to observe a wide array of wildlife, including herons, monkeys, parrots, macaws, black caimans, piranhas, and river otters—a remarkable species exceeding two meters in length, currently threatened with extinction.

Throughout the day, guests will enjoy a leisurely meal before returning to their lodges or departing via air terminal or land transport to Puerto Maldonado.
