This expedition into Huascaran National Park offers an opportunity to explore the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Peru. Specifically, participants will have the chance to traverse the María Josefa trail, which leads them to the scenic Chinancocha lagoon.
Our itinerary commences at 9:30 a.m., when we will pickup you from your accommodation in Huaraz and proceed towards the Callejón de Huaylas, situated amidst the Cordillera Blanca and the Cordillera Negra. Our journey continues as we traverse these breathtaking natural landscapes, culminating in the awe-inspiring Huascarán National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve.
Upon arrival within the park boundaries, we will navigate through various Andean villages, allowing you to marvel at the stunning vistas and serene landscapes. Following our exploration of the park, we will venture into the Llanganuco ravine and the Chinancocha lagoon, where we will embark upon a guided hiking expedition along the María Josefa trail for an hour and a half. This trek promises to unveil the rich biodiversity and unique flora and fauna of the high Andes, providing ample opportunities to capture memorable photographs.
Post-hiking, we will rest for an hour before continuing our journey back to your hotel in Huaraz. Upon arrival, we will conclude the excursion by approximately 6:30 p.m., ensuring a seamless end to your adventure.
