Trip Details:

On Day 1, one of our representatives will greet you at the terminal. Following pick-up, we will travel via boat to the Tambopata River. Upon arrival at the lodge, guests will be warmly greeted and immediately settled into their accommodations.

Following lunch, we will conduct an introductory walk focusing on the economic activities prevalent within the region. As the sun sets, we will proceed aboard a boat, embarking on a quest for caiman sightings.

On Day 2, our journey commences with a serene breakfast at 5:00 AM. A 1-hour 30-minute boat ride will transport us to the parrot clay lick. Here, we'll witness a captivating display of Amazonian wildlife, including shorebirds, capybaras, and white caimans.

Upon reaching our destination, we'll observe a magnificent spectacle at the clay lick, where parrots and macaws will fly overhead. After enjoying our meal there, we'll continue our exploration of the reserve's biodiversity.

Late in the afternoon, we'll make our way back to Puerto Maldonado, where we'll board a bus for the approximately 45-minute journey to Lake Sandoval. During our visit to the lake, we'll stroll through a lush tropical forest, observing native flora and fauna such as natural bamboo, monkeys, sloths, and macaws.

Once at our lodge, we'll settle in for the evening, followed by a leisurely boat ride under the watchful gaze of nocturnal monkeys and bats. Dinner awaits, followed by a night walk to explore the area's insect life.

On Day 3, our expedition begins shortly after dawn with a nutritious breakfast. Our focus shifts to searching for giant otters, who will be eager to pose for photos. We'll also have the opportunity to spot multicolored parrots along the way.

A subsequent walk will allow us to appreciate a diverse array of ancient trees (ranging from 300 to 450 years) and traditional medicines used by local communities. Returning to our lodge for a well-deserved lunch, we'll end the day with a swim guided by our expert team.

Finally, on Day 4, our adventure concludes with a scenic boat ride to the Sandoval Lake. This morning, we'll seek out giant otters alongside a rich tapestry of flora and fauna. Later, we'll gather at our lodge for breakfast before heading back to Puerto Maldonado.

Throughout the trip, our knowledgeable guides will share insights into the region’s unique ecosystems, highlighting both the challenges faced and the remarkable adaptations of its inhabitants.
