Excursion to the Pachapupum volcano

This unique geological wonder, renowned for its impressive natural volcanic features, offers visitors an exceptional opportunity to explore the majestic Pachapupum Volcano. During this exciting excursion, guests can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of these ancient landscapes while indulging in the therapeutic properties of mineral-rich water pools.

We will gather at the Plaza de Armas at 6:00 AM. From there, a bus will depart promptly, transporting us to Sacsamarca, a livestock district situated south of Ayacucho. This journey will span approximately four to five hours, during which we shall pause briefly in the picturesque town of Condorccocha. At this time, participants may choose to explore the local area or purchase a meal at an adjacent restaurant, known locally as "El Restaurante del Cerro." Following this detour, we shall proceed to Huanca Sancos, where those with a packed lunch might opt to dine. Our final destination is the majestic Pachapupum volcano, a geological marvel composed of layers of volcanic rock and ash, rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape. Accessible via a series of steep stone stairs carved by ancient forces, we ascend to the summit where the imposing crater opens up before us—a circular formation measuring over ten meters across, its interior filled with steamy gaseous fumes and bubbling hot springs.

Upon reaching the summit, one will encounter a plethora of mineral-rich natural pools nestled within the crater's boundaries. These crystal-clear bodies of water host unique aquatic flora and fauna, including various species of fish and amphibians. Participants should pack accordingly, ensuring they bring swimwear suitable for navigating these refreshing waters. After enjoying the rejuvenating dip, we shall disembark the vehicle at Ayacucho, returning to our starting point by evening at 8:00 PM.
