From the first decades of the 20th century, fado experienced gradual dissemination and popular consecration, and in the 1950s the internationalization of fado was consolidated above all through the singer of Amália Rodrigues.
In 2011, fado was placed on the list of UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity. After the film, watch a live fado show in the Church of Mercy, a remarkable monument in the city of Faro.
